The Ferrochrome Cost Report
Cost curves for 2007, 2008 and 2009 (one historical year, the current year and one future year). The cost curves will be compiled on the basis of ex-plant costs (costs at the factory gate) and delivered costs (delivered to the consumer). All of the plants included in the cost curve will be identified by name. The data and charts will be available for downloading from the website.
The cost curves will provide a breakdown of cash operating costs for each plant in each year for the following cost categories:
- Chrome ore
- Power
- Reductants
- Labour
- Other
- Total ex-plant costs
- Transport costs (land plus freight)
- Total delivered costs
There will be a series of ranking tables so that the data can be compared easily across different years, within each year for each cost category and by plant/competitor. This data will be provided in Excel spreadsheets and will be available for downloading from the website.
Finally it will provide a short write-up to highlight the major cost drivers in each time period and why they might be changing. It will also discuss the position of the different plants on the cost curve and why they might have moved up or down the curve and, in addition, it will analyse the movement of the overall cost curve over time.
