Raw material price rises, particularly since the second half of February, are inspiring significant changes in stainless steel quotations throughout Asia.
European prices are also surging on account of alloy surcharges but tighter market fundamentals are making mills increasingly successful in raising base prices alongside.
Though US demand is improving and at what appears to be a far faster pace than in Western Europe, base-price rises are off the agenda at present as import pressures remain a concern.
