Soda Ash The Ten Year Forecast

Soda Ash Ten Year Forecast and Market Analysis Report from British Sulphur Consultants

The Soda Ash Ten Year Forecast and Market Analysis provides comprehensive analysis of soda ash producers, production costs and trends, prices, supply demand, trade, and outlook to 2015.

This Report can be used directly in soda ash business planning, budgeting and investment evaluation.

The most spectacular rate of soda ash demand growth in recent years has been in China, with a growth rate averaging 11.2% p.a.over the 2000-2004 period. Will this rate of demand growth be sustained? What are the prospects for soda ash demand growth outside of China?  The Report examines the capacity and production of soda ash in China between 2000 - 2004.

The total increment in Chinese capacity during the 2000-2004 period was ±4.5 million tonnes, but since mid 2004 Chinese soda ash producers have been adversely impacted by a tight salt supply and higher salt prices. What is the projected Chinese salt supply/demand position to 2015? To what extent will the expansion of the Chinese soda ash industry be restrained by its salt supply? How much new soda ash capacity will China add in the forecast period? How will the Chinese soda ash supply/demand balance change through to 2015?

Increasing cost pressures on the soda ash industry was one of the major factors behind the soda ash price increases implemented by soda ash producers in early 2005. What is the nature and extent of these cost pressures?  Is the recovery in soda ash prices sustainable? How long will higher prices persist?
